International Association of Oncology (IAO) is one of the world's leading professional Association for medical Oncology & life science professionals caring for people. IAO is a non profitable professional association meant for research and development in the field of Medical Oncology and life science. IAO have an international forum for Researchers, Academicians, Doctors and practitioners as Members.

IAO is a membership based association consisting of 250 expert committee members and over 10,000 Oncology Professionals.

IAO Organises a number of conferences and meetings every year by providing a world class stage to its members and the community to share their research ideas and networking with peers.

Executive Board Members

The Executive Board Manages the Association and represents the association externally.

The Executive Board is composed of the following six elected members,

IAO International Advisory Committee

International Advisory committee members assist the IAO in achieving and monitoring its mission and vision. The International advisory members consist of international recognized leaders with demonstrated expertise in the areas of Medical Oncology and Life Science also plays an important role in the smooth and successful conduction of the conference, scientific events, R & D assistance.

They are uniquely influential group in the academic fraternity. International advisory board members are pioneers in advancement in Medical Oncology and Life Science also they are key role in promoting the conference and events among their networks and encourage and support the exploration in Medical Oncology and Life Science.

IAO National Advisory Committee

The National Advisory committee members assist IAO in achieving and monitoring its mission and vision. The National advisory members consist of local, and national recognized leaders with demonstrated expertise in the areas of Medical oncology and Life Science.

National Advisory board members plays an important role in the smooth and successful conduction of the conference, scientific events and meetings. They are uniquely influential group in the academic fraternity. National Advisory Committee members are pioneers in advancement in science and technology also they are key role in promoting the conference and events among their networks.

They bring good quality research papers to our conference and scientific events and encourage and support the exploration in Medical Oncology and Life Science.

IAO Council

The IAO Council supports and advises the Executive Board and proposes the strategic plan for discussion and implementation.

The IAO Council is composed of the following members:

  • Chairpersons of the Permanent Committees
  • Chairperson of the Nomination Committee
  • Editors-in-Chief of Journals
  • Up to 5 additional Council members appointed by the Executive Board.

IAO Editorial Board

The Editorial Board Members of IAO reviews manuscripts submitted to the journal, thus working to promote the quality of the scientific publication.

The IAO Editorial Board is composed of the following members:

  4. Editors Emeritus
  5. Associate Editors
  6. Editorial Board Members
  7. Reviewers

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing manuscripts.
  • Suggesting topics and authors for solicited reviews or editorials.
  • Helping to elicit high quality, state-of-the-art articles from their own and other research groups.
  • Contributing their own ideas and experience to improve the quality and competitiveness of the Journals.
  • Editor-in-Chief will take the final decision for any publication oriented issue.
  • Honesty and transparency is a must to become an Editorial Board member, where an Editor should judge every submission equally and transparently.
  • Providing the final judgment on the articles assigned within the allotted time with proper reason and clarification should be done by the Editor.
  • Editor should remember the policy of fast and effective peer review and further process, therefore, should communicate with the reviewers or authors depending on the stage of article processing in case of any delay.
  • Editors will be responsible to convey the expectations of the journal to the reviewers with the review scope, quality and timeliness for an effective, fair and constructive review for the assigned submission.

Ethics & Plagiarism Committee

The members of the Ethics & Plagiarism Committee were responsible for overseeing all plagiarism cases and issues dealing with professional ethics in publishing.

The members of this committee have a vast knowledge of legal and ethical publishing issues and policies, and work closely with IAO, as well as calling on domain experts as needed in individual cases.

IAO Global Policy Committee

The Global Policy Committee reports to the IAO and addresses the policy issues related to the practice and profession of Medical Oncology. The Committee works closely with the key international issues such as cancer prevention, access to cancer treatment, and cancer control. The IAO Global Policy Committee facilitates the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices worldwide through collaboration.

IAO Educational Committee

The IAO Educational Committee promotes education in Oncology and ensure a high standard of professional qualification and practice.

  3. Initiate educational activities and support for proper execution.
  4. Organizing Certification Courses & Programmes.
  5. Selecting Medical Oncology experts.

IAO Guidelines Committee

IAO Guidelines Committee will manage the guidelines for all the activities, memberships and events organized by IAO to provide with a set of recommendations for the best standard of care.

  • Reviewing, updating and publishing IAO Guidelines
  • Organising IAO Conferences, Meetings, Scientific Events and publishing Guidelines
  • Organising interactive Guidelines sessions at IAO Meetings
  • Working with other societies to develop multidisciplinary clinical practice guidelines

IAO Membership Committee

The IAO membership Committee is responsible for categorizing the membership and the process for admitting the members to the association.

Activities and Responsibilities

  1. Categorizing the membership, reviewing and approving Membership applications.
  2. Render Strategic Guidance to the membership department.
  3. Surveying Members needs and satisfaction and making proposals for new member benefits.
  4. Rendering regular reports to the executive board.

IAO Nomination Committee

The IAO Nomination Committee is a key committee responsible for identifying candidates for the Executive Board Positions.The main task of the Nomination Committee is to select, evaluate and nominate the final candidates for election.

IAO Press and Media Affairs Committee

The IAO Press and Media affairs committee develops the IAO press strategy. This is a permanent committee of the association and works closely with the IAO Executive Board to ensure that the IAO positions are promptly and correctly spread for the benefit of professionals and patients and to improve the context of research against cancer.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Create the internal framework for press activities in line with the Association’s strategy.
  • Provide reliable and independent information and commentary on current medical oncology, cancer and cancer-related issues to allow the community to develop an educated judgement.
  • Identify opportunities and issues where IAO needs to have its voice heard and correctly understood.
  • Build a network of Association’s spokespersons (Media Ambassadors) and train them to deliver effective messages.
  • Develop the content of the IAO Events' press programmes.

IAO Young Oncologists Committee (YOC)

The Young Oncologists Committee (YOC) provides a platform for networking with other medical oncologists and oncology professionals thus providing an opportunity to strengthen young oncologists’ skills, knowledge and expertise.

This is done primarily by creating and implementing educational and scientific programmes relevant to Young Oncologists in their daily practice and/or research activities. YOC activities are open to all young medical oncologist members of IAO.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • With the objective of developing Oncology leaders for the future by Integrating the activities of the YOC.
  • Developing YOC Sessions at the Annual IAO meetings.
  • Informing the IAO Executive Board about career development issues.
  • Enhancing YOs expertise for future practice and career development
  • Promoting opportunities for research activities
  • Creating a global IAO - YO network where common issues can be shared and debated.

IAO Audit Committee

The IAO Audit Committee reviews and assures compliance with policies and procedures relating to the conduct of financial and business affairs of IAO.

This includes the review of the appropriateness of financial expenditure risks and to ensure that an ethical business and conduct policy is supervised by the Executive Board and to monitor the effective implementation of the process. To oversee the procedure for determining compliance with overall good corporate governance practices.
