RegistrationLung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. It is a complex and heterogeneous disease, with different types of lung cancer arising from different cell types and with a range of clinical presentations, treatments, and outcomes.
In the past due to very limited treatment options, the survival rate of lung cancer was only 15%. Today, there are multiple treatments available for lung cancer, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. These treatments have greatly improved the five-year survival rate of lung cancer to over 50%. Additionally, advances in medical imaging, such as CT scans and PET scans, have allowed for early detection and diagnosis of lung cancer, which can improve treatment outcomes. New treatments are being developed to target specific mutations and help the body’s own immune system fight off cancer cells. Additionally, research is being done to develop personalized treatments based on the specific genetic makeup of individual tumours.
This webinar aims to review and discuss in depth about Past, Present and Future of Lung Cancer Management.
